A pervasive African conspiracy theory is being spread throughout the internet and is heavily effecting aid efforts in Ghana and ebola effected regions.

Synopsis: A Ghanian man, Nana Kwame (no credentials listed), claims ebola does not exist but is a ploy for plundering African treasures and for human experimentation. The theory claims an attempt to regain control of the continent by the United States for oil access and diamond mining.

The Ebola crisis, Western involvement in the crisis and the recommendations from the West to curb the crisis have all been met with intense conspiracy theories. Such an intense distrust has led to riots and significant difficulty in containing the ebola outbreak.
